The Silva Ranger Global compass is a traditional base plate compass commonly used by hikers, mountaineers, backpackers and hunters. The global needle also makes the compass flexible and possible to use around the world.

Features a rubber grip for easy handling and comes with a declination scale to use anywhere inside the capsule, a magnifying glass, and a map on the base plate that measures in mm and 1 scales :25k, 1:50k. The base plate is curved up at the back for a perfect fit in the hand. The red/black north-south lines on the bottom of the capsule ensure easy and safe seating. Distinctive arrow and scales/markings in a clear, contemporary font combined with plenty of transparency on the base plate make for easy navigation: when activated by light, the luminous markings allow for nighttime navigation. The needle is made of the best Swedish steel with high quality magnetic characteristics.

If you plan to use your compass in different parts of the world, it's important to know that magnetic zones will affect your compass. Most compasses only work in one of the three world zones and if you use your compass in the wrong zone it will show the wrong north. This compass model has a global needle and can be used in all three zones: you can take it anywhere in the world.

This model compass is equipped with a detachable scale cord that works like a ruler. The scale bead has two scales; 1:25 and 1:50, making it easy to measure the distance of your walk.
