Tripod made of light aluminum alloy, designed mainly for mountain rescue and glacier crevasses, although it can be adapted to any environment and situation without losing effectiveness.

Light, compact, quick to assemble and easy to use, it allows a faster intervention and adapts to any terrain. Thanks to its simplicity, it is easily assembled and operated, with only 3 people it is possible to carry out rescue operations in glaciers, crevasses, vertical rock walls, etc.

It incorporates two winches fixed to its legs for a quick ascent / descent. It also includes two locking grips, two pulleys and eight carabiners of different designs, to complement the two winches and carry out these intervention operations easily, quickly and safely.

Principles of operation:

The lathe has been designed so that the drum rotates in only one direction even if the crank is turned clockwise or counterclockwise.

Turning the crank clockwise achieves a ratio of 1: 4.5 (a full turn of the drum is equivalent to four and a half turns of the crank), generating a power of 1:30 (1 Kg of force applied to the crank allows lifting 30 Kg of weight). This direction is normally used when heavy weights need to be lifted.

Turning the crank counterclockwise achieves a 1: 1 ratio (a full turn of the drum is equivalent to a full turn of the crank), generating a power of 1: 7 ( 1 Kg of force applied to the crank allows to lift 7 Kg of weight). This direction is used when the weight to be lifted is less.

The tripod has been designed and tested to lower or raise two people at the same time; standard weight of 150 Kg for each lathe (factor of safety and inspection 1:10 under static conditions and 1: 1.5 for its functionality).

It can be used under climatic conditions normally supported by man, with semi-static ropes that comply with the EN 1891 standard and that have a type A elongation factor, or in an emergency with dynamic ropes that have CE certification .

Users or rescuers must self-belay before carrying out any operation with the tripod.

This tripod can also be used as a davit pole in emergency situations for rescues in sloping terrain but requires an expert rescue team.

The most suitable mounting of the tripod would be forming an angle of 60º between its legs. The maximum opening angle of the legs is 90º, so its use is not recommended for cracks of more than 3.5 meters wide.
