Description

Cross-country ski binding from the brand Fritschi.

Evolution for this season, the Vipec Evo has been technically modified with a new design. The high-performance touring binding for all occasions has been technically modified for this season, reinforced with carbon and has a new design with modern colours.

Like the previous model, the block is more compact and safe, through easier toe fit thanks to a more solid stop, improved guidance and a greater opening of the stops, and providing greater safety when the boot comes out forward when jumping back, as the bolts open more quickly when they feel the pressure on the toe.

With the Vipec Evo, the brand has managed to create a lightweight mountain binding that meets the safety standards of an alpine binding and allows full transmission from the boot to the ski, without intermediate barriers. In addition, this version expands the adjustment range from DIN 4-12, now also for light skiers, providing perfect safety for the vast majority of backcountry skiers.

It is worth highlighting some important advantages of this binding compared to others with the Tech system:
  • Lateral release of the toe. When the binding receives a strong blow to the side (depending on the DIN we have set) the sides open like piste bindings. The sides have an elasticity of 13 mm until the final release.
  • Adjustment of the release of the toe. It is regulated exactly the same as a piste ski, both at the toe and heel, with the same DIN values of 4-12.It has a position that hardens the toe so that it does not jump when walking if we are on mid-slopes or stumbling, but which releases it in the event of strong falls or in the case of being caught by an avalanche while climbing.
  • The heel is mounted on a sliding guide, so that it maintains the distance when flexing the ski without compromising the safety of disengagement. It also allows for better flexing of the ski, improving handling. The heel piece also has an elasticity of up to 4 mm before vertical release.
  • Climbing-descent mode change: Putting the binding in ski mode is very simple, since the binding allows you to switch from skiing to walking mode and vice versa, on the fly, without having to take off the ski.
  • Wide assembly diagram with a range for several sizes (about 25 mm range).

In addition to all this data, we can say that the Vipec EVO 12 binding has three lifting positions, at 0º, 9º and 13º in height, for maximum comfort when climbing and very easy to lift with the pole. They are recommended for skis with wide skates, we would say for more than 78 mm.

Characteristics:
  • Only compatible with boots with the Tech system. In competition type boots you have to use an optional clip that has the toe fixation.
  • Flexibility in both toe and heel.
  • Din 4-12 in toe and heel.
  • Recommended for skis with a skate of more than 67 mm according to the manufacturer, it is the minimum width of the fixation.
  • Includes 90 mm brake.
  • Weight according to the manufacturer 550 g/unit, brake included.
