The Smart 2.0 is the optimized version of Mammut's popular belaying and rappelling device, known for its simple and intuitive operation. This belay device, very light and without moving parts or levers, is suitable for both belaying a rope leader and for top-rope climbing.
The Smart 2.0 offers improved braking efficiency thanks to an insert that, in the event of a fall, locks the rope when interacting with the safety carabiner, without requiring a great deal of effort on the part of the belayer. Its geometry is designed to respond to the reflex movements of the body in stressful situations, ensuring that the braking action works reliably even if the hands move sharply towards the body.
