Designed for freeride enthusiasts looking for big adventures on the mountain, the Atomic Backland 102 is designed to explore, climb and descend with commanding confidence. Built in the same way as the wider Backland 109, FreeTour Profile creates a touring ski with great downhill power.
The ultra-lightweight poplar and caruba wood core offers the ideal balance between low weight and optimal performance, and the lightweight, three-dimensional HRZN 3D tip increases surface area for better flotation in deep snow conditions. Powder Rocker provides a pronounced tip and tail with camber underfoot for fun and effortless maneuverability in deep powder and uneven terrain.
A reinterpretation of the original Backland construction, it is made with more low-carbon raw materials, more wood, and less fiberglass, metal, and resin to reduce CO2 equivalent emissions by 26% (compared to the Backland 100, 2022). Developed with Austrian off-piste legend Matthias Haunholder, the Backland 102's soulful performance and climbing efficiency is what allows it to ski deeper into the mountains on every traverse.
